Everything is looking good

I know I’ve been a little late at posting since last week and it is because so many things seem to be happening at once and I’ve been pre-occupied.

First, my husband got his job back which is amazing and we are so thrilled. This means we get health insurance for everyone and I’m much less stressed.

Then on Friday we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s “5 years and 2 kids later”. It seems like just the other day I was a blushing bride.

And finally yesterday…

I gave my 2 weeks notice at my job.

It has been a whirlwind, but I am happy and thankful for everything.

Summer isn’t quite here yet in Chicago. Although we’ve had a few “hot” days. As I’m writing this it is cold and rainy with a temperature of 58 degrees. Brrr!

I’m trying to de-clutter the apartment and planning to perhaps sell off a few things because it’s just too cramped. That’s one good thing about apartment living (yes I did say good thing) you are forced to downsize. I’ve made my own custom closet by using some hanging compartments and plastic drawers, once it’s complete I’ll post a pic for you to check out what I’ve done. It’s a lot cheaper than buying a kit and it doesn’t look too bad.

In other news, we will be traveling in 2 weeks to Dallas, Texas to visit my husband’s family as his mother and aunt are here from overseas.

If any of you are in the Dallas area it would be great to have a Hijabtrendz meet-up, so do let me know if you are there!

I’ve been thinking for some time about  doing a summer travel guide for hijabis with cool and fun places to go including water parks and stuff with tips on how to do these things even though you wear hijab. What do you think?

Do any of you have summer plans?
